What solution can we have for this type of Duplicate content?

Hi fellows warriors,

We have an e-commerce site , with hundreds of thousand of products. We also put the database of products on some other websites, But google sees it as Duplicate content.

We are thinking about 2 solutions.
1/ Re-writting all the duplicate content, which might take a while, but will work.

2/ We were thinking of making one listing on a serveur, and writting a script that will call the products, when someone cilck on a category, product, ect. That way the content won't be on the website, but will be called by it .

What do you think of about the second solution?
Will google sees it as a content that has no value in term of SEO, or not?
Also, we have references code. Should they be also unique?

  • 1) The first solution suits well if you also want to get the organic traffic to other websites with your products.
    2) the second is universal. You'll get rid of duplicate content but these sites with your products will get less organic traffic.
  • Keep in mind that when the same content is on different websites, this is NOT duplicate content. What you are referring to is "syndicated content". It provides no SEO benefit but you cannot be penalized if that's what you were worried about.

    Whichever site the content gets indexed on first will receive the SEO benefit.
  • Are you using rich snippets for your ecommerce website and on other merchant centers that your products are listed on?

    I would suggest you use the rich snippets provided by Google. Google treats an ecommerce website differently, there are hundreds of other websites who have their products listed across other channels with same product details.
