Backlinks submission helps in linkbuilding or not?

backlinks used to be important, but now, their impact is little. Backlinks have been abused to death, and google knows it very well. You can get a number of high PR backlinks for $5 on fiverr. Google knows that also.

Of course having backlinks is good, but backlinks won't compensate for the core of SEO -- mainly site structure and quality of content.

Your first focus should be on getting the basics right. if your content is good, backlinks will come and find you.

It would seem that way, but you need to disregard what the sales pitch says. The actual links are very likely not high PR, or have any real link juice.

These borderline scammers are conveniently forgetting to tell you that the site that they're spamming or otherwise using has (had) a strong front page. Either your link isn't going to land on that page, or there's dozens of other sold links on the same page which will dilute yours.

Google probably doesn't need to pay extra attention to Fiverr, because these link sources are so poor to begin with.

On the contrary, they can to some extend. Of course your content should be worth the visit to someone, and it helps if your site structure is sensible.

If you'd read the article you'd seen that even Neil Patel disagrees with the asinine sentence you started your previous post with. You misunderstood him, and then started rambling on scam products that claim to be high-PR when in fact they're not.

What difference does that make to you? Although it should be apparent from my word choices and the refutation to your comment that I at least took a glance at it.

It's obvious that you didn't either read or understand the article at all.

Neil Patel is known non-SEO who's posted all kinds of completely cockamamie narratives that probably suit whatever he's selling at the moment. I try to steer clear of his "helpful" articles.

You don't seem to have read it, either. Neil is saying that lots of backlinks, irrelevant of where and how they're coming to your site, is no longer the way. Now you need to pay attention to the quality of the links.

You can't overtake #1 with an additional crappy 5,000 links, but you can overtake them with a few well-chosen links.

That's what Neil is saying.

It still works. But it would depend on the type of site you are leaving your links from. You have to be choosy as to where you would leave your links. The better the sites are, the heavier the weight on that on Google. Before, you can just leave on any sites that would allow you to, now you should choose not only those with high pr, but those with good content, regularly updated, doesn't contain excessive ads or spams, and the like. There are high pr sites that may not be as good as you think they are. Take for example those that have high prs but are no longer updated or has been outdated, or those that have been bought and the content have been changed or whatever. Bottom line, always put your links on sites that (you think) have good standing on Google.

Yes backlinks work. But why and how?

In 96 before google took over that was the only way to get people to your site. Finding other sites with large amount of traffic. Then getting them to your site with a link.

Use that same mentality today. Find sites with relevant audience. Either get a guest post. Or connect with webmaster and have them share your site with their audience.

You get relevant traffic. Whether google is there or not you'll get quality visitors. And, it will help in ranking.

Quality Content= Useful, original, helpful.
