Hi folks i have a big confusion about crawlers and Latent Semantic Indexing.
#search engine optimization #indexing #latent #semantic
  • And what would be your confusion?

Crawlers crawl, indexers index. LSI is something that a Google search can describe better than anyone on this forum.
  • A crawler is a program that visits Web sites and reads their pages and other information in order to create entries for a search engine index and Latent semantic indexing (LSI) is a process to identify patterns in the relationships between the terms and concepts contained in an unstructured collection of text. LSI Keyword having the same meaning but different words like synonymous words. I am showing an image from where you can understand better about LSI.http://72gpf1za5iq428ekh3r7qjc1.wpen...4/image672.png

    • That image does a lousy job of explaining LSI. Although that particular search does demonstrate LSI to some extent, what is highlighted in the image are just synonyms. LSI goes way beyond synonyms.

    • Hi Raxix,

Thank you. As per the discussion what i understood is that we can use spinning tools for content rewriting right! But still i am bit confusion.

      For example:

      Before Spin,

Inverselogix Company is offering SEO Services in affordable prices. That will lift your website into a higher ranking in top search engines.

      After using spining tool,

Inverselogix Company is putting forth SEO Services in reasonable costs that will lift your site into a higher positioning in top web indexes.

So, my content will not affected by LSI. Is this right Raxix?

  • Crawler: A web crawler is used to collect data from internet. When a crawler visit a website, it collect copy of all visited pages and store in a database.
LSI: Stands for latest semnatic indexing, which means when you're searching in search engine for something with a keyword of "FOOT" then it'll show all the related words like Football, footage, footer etc.

Hope these definitions will clear your doubts.

    • I bet you could say something more useful if you read the posts in the thread before you answer.

  • Latent Semantic Indexing is an indexing and retrieval method which plays a vital role in the document indexing process. In SEO, it provides the best results for the query being posted in the search engine by the site visitor with LSI-indexed database looking at similarity values being calculated for each of the content word.

Crawler is a program that systematically browses the World Wide Web in order to create an index of data
