    Hello there,

These are the best tools for SEO (according to my experience):

    1. Ahrefs (for link building)
    2. SEMrush (to perform competitive analysis)
    3. ScreamingFrog (to crawl your website, find broken links, 404 pages, etc.)

Those three tools work great together.

You are dumb if you are buying an SEO tool just to buy an SEO tool.

What is it you are trying to accomplish? Figure that out and then find a tool that helps you accomplish that.

You are going to get a wide range of suggestions in this thread with asking such a general question. Most of the suggestions are going to be incredibly stupid.

I wouldn't recommend buying a tool to build links as automate link building activities will do no good but ban your website from the search result pages.

I was being nice. I was pointing out that you needed to be much more specific in what you were trying to do.

If all you want to do is research backlinks, than Ahrefs or Majestic will work fine.

Perhaps you could state your goals you want to achieve with the 'SEO tool' you're looking to purchase? E.g. backlink checkers, social drip feed etc etc

There's a bunch of tools in the net. You can also find free ones. I have ditched most seo tool since they were more on auto submissions. Right now, I am using more seo plugin tools for my site like Greg's High performance SEO. There's also the fast caching like Super cache. We've shifted from using W3total cache since we were having trouble with the CPU usage over hostgator. Super cache is doing pretty well.
