hi,
i am writing a blog post on "what is domain name and how to purchase one".I don't know what's my target keyword here.As per my knowledge target keyword are those keyword with which a webmaster wants to rank in the search engine.(Do correct me if i am wrong).
So, is the whole title my target keyword which i have mentioned above?or is only "domain name" my target keyword.?

I know it's good to use a long tail keyword rather than short ones, that's why i am planning to write on the above mentioned title. So what's my target keyword?

If that is my target keyword then will i have to use that long phrase at the title, permalink, body content so as to optimize the content with keyword density of 1-2%?

or should i use only "domain name" in the title, permalink, body content etc, for optimizing the content

  • When you start getting into blog posts and long tail keywords, you don't need it to be the exact keyword as the title. Your title could actually target a number of long tail keywords written just the way it is now. Good keywords for such a blog post might be..
    What is a Domain Name
    How to Purchase Domain Names
    Purchase Domain Name

All of the 3 keyphrases above could be considered long tail. Since none of them are probably hugely competitive you could incorporate your blog post content to contain all three of them in different parts of the text. Get some backlinks going into your blog post using the three long tail keyphrases above and you can probably get 1 post ranked for all 3 keyphrases.

I know you're asking for help but you have a long ways to go If you think keyword density is actually something related to SEO.

You need to look at the BIG picture for the webpage you're trying to rank. Traffic is entering your page via multiple keywords If you have a bunch of text on a page (ex: article content). Break the page down into small chunks each focused on a sub-topic of the root keyword (ex: domain).

Remove the meta description tag from your page so Google uses targeted on-page text as SERP descriptions based on the exact search query.

Use jump-links to jump down the page to the relevant <h2> text/sub-topic.

  • Keywords play a major role in upsurging the rank of any website in different search engine. By placing a keyword in the title of your blog and in the body helps to attract the people towards it easily. Putting hyperlink on any of the keyword by making it a long tail assist the writer to make it more impressive for engaging people on a blog effectively.

Putting direct domain name of any website shows that you are trying to promote a business in your blog and it seems to be a spamming one. So, try to be genuine by posting relevant content with the insertion of keywords in a limited manner.
