Help! My google adwords account got banned

I recently opened a second google adwords account. After 18 months of trying and losing about $1000 (and an all time CTR of 0.39%), I decided that the only way I could redeem myself was by opening a fresh account, because I have studied and now know what I am doing.

I did several small tests of campaigns aver about 7 days, using very low budgets and got myself a nice CTR of over 10%. One of the products I tested was for making money online, an obvious niche with high traffic volume.

This monring I get an email from google saying they have banned my account (the new one), due to me promoting a "making money" product that I actually got directly from the clickbank site. They said that there have been multiple complaints that the product is misrepresented.
They also say that I can never again have another account with them. I am not only shocked but devastated as I have not knowingly done anything wrong. This is the email they sent me:

"It's come to our attention that you have submitted ads that promote a misrepresented affiliation with Google or links to products which make unrealistic promises about making money via Google products. Due to multiple complaints from our users and publishers, we've made the decision not to accept these ads. As part of our on going efforts to provide our users with high quality ads, we are taking action against deceptive advertising and sites.

This is a notification that your account has been suspended due to the submission of these ads and your ads will no longer run on Google. Please note that future accounts you open will also be suspended.

As noted in our Terms and Conditions, Google reserves the right to terminate advertisements for any reason."

PLEASE, can anyone tell me how I can undo such a thing? I tried to ring google this morning but all I got was an answer machine. This is a genuine mistake and I would not knowingly promote something that was dodgy. This product had a high gravity so I had every reason to believe that it was popular. all thoughts appreciated.

    Hi
Well your primary account is still active, right? about getting the account back try try and try as long as you can. I have not seen any one who has got their account back after having it banned once but then again I've not seen anyone who has got their account banned due to promoting a product from CB but I think its good that your account was banned due to this reason and not due to having multiple account. I think you have a valid point here, you were not aware that the product you were promoting was not acceptable by adwords, so, this may strengthen your case and you may get your account back but having multiple account is not allowed and CC and names are not the only thing that adwords uses to track multiple accounts.

I have been chatting to clickbank regarding my accounts and they are aware that I opened a second account. I was honest and upfront with them about it.
I told them that because I spent 18 months making many mistakes I wanted a fresh start. They said that although they don't encourage it, it was OK.
So I guess eventually I try to open another account from the IP address of my laptop instead of my other computer. Would that make a difference?

I thought you had problem with your adwords account, having two accounts at CB is not a big deal. Its adwords that don't like multiple accounts. Correct me if I am wrong, you already have 1 adwords account that is active and you applied for another adwords account and one week later it got banned due to promoting inadequate products from CB and now you want to get your second adwords account reactivated and you still have one active account. Is that so?

I never talked about having two clickbank accounts, someone else made that presumtion for me. I do have multiple clickbank accounts for my multiple web sites as is permissible.
I have two adwords accounts (or at least I did). when I opened my second adwords account, I told the people at adwords that I wanted to close my first one. I applied for a refund of unused funds. I said I would no longer use that account (the one with 0.38%CTR. Nothing is active there anymore. I don't know if it has been closed yet, but I do not wish to use that account any longer).
The account that was banned was the new account that I opened.

Well, thats too bad, as i said there isn't much you can do except requesting them to reinstate your account, you can explain them that you had no idea that the products you were promoting were not acceptable. Meanwhile, if you really really need an adwords account, there are two things you can do, you can either apply for another account in a completely untraceable way (that means a different IP from a different PC using a CC that is not in your name and has a different billing address and don't setup campaigns for the same domains that you had in your previous accounts) or you can use a VCC that allows you to load funds with your personal CC. I guess these are the only two options i can suggest, I hope someone can suggest a better solution.

There are ways around this. I know many people who have had this happen.

Basically what you have to do is use a different IP, name, and address, and CC. I think Google also uses advanced tracking methods, so clearing your cookies won't do the trick. Best to use another computer also.

When changing your IP, the best option is using proxies, so that your IPs are completely different.

Also, I see a lot of people using what are called VCC cards, or prepaid cards to get around this. I don't know the exact ins and outs of how to do it, but if you look hard enough you can find the info on the net. Very back hat, and you won't find that info on this forum PM me and I will shoot you in the right direction if you want.

As far as I know, you will need a new name, new address, and a new credit card to open an account as a new user. Just try to Google search for opening a new AdWords account, there are many complaints, and the only way to go about this is a completely new "user".

Are you allowed to share what products they were or can we assume anything with Google in the name being sold on clickbank?

Maybe I'm missing something but does this mean 'banned' or just 'suspended' as they say?

If it's only the latter, maybe you can appeal and mention you didn't know about the product's reputation.

I apologise if you've already tried that.

its like ebay. Read the horror stories about how ebay don't give 2 hoots when they suspend people for no reason. These are sellers with huge inventories and thousands tied up in stock and no way of selling it

Unfortunately, it seems that Google is going on a termination spree and they
don't want to hear any reasons or give second chances.

You might need to use different ip, different name, different credit card and different
address to open a new account.

I hope you find a solution around this.

    Wow, that really sucks!

I am brand new to Adwords and am confused as hell as to what is going on with my simple ad campaign. One second it's running, the next it's not. Just goes to show how much Google controls the money flow on the internet. If I were you I would just keep trying to contact them. I know when I submitted an email it took them roughly three days to respond.

    Good luck,

Hm, and yet Google is full of ads for CopyNProfit, including the original domain itself.

Are you sure it was this product? I would think if they've come down to such drastic measures as to close unsuspecting affiliate's accounts, the actual domain name would be banned long ago.

This is quite worrying, I thought Google issues warnings first and closes accounts if you fail to comply. How is one supposed to know which products are ok with them and which are not? I'm not aware of an official blacklist.

Anyway, you can try to register an account in your wife's other other family member's name or register a new company.

I just went in read my ads for this account. I am wondering (and excuse my ignorance here), I used the word "official" in one of my ads. I said "official money making site". Could that have got me banned?
I googled the guy Jamie Lewis and there are nothing but good things said about him on the Internet.
I noticed that google has delisted all five of my sites. Not good. Hmmm......
I typed in "Site:mysitedotcom" into google and my sites did not come up. That is bad, right?

I just read the email from google again. because I said "official" google thinks I am meaning google's site. Oh my gosh! I had no idea. I copied that one from other marketers, seeing Marketers use that word so I thought it might be good to put it in to just one ad thaht I ran for three days.
One word... that will no doubt be the problem. So I am banned for life for making a mistake with one word... a bit of a high price to pay for a newbie trying their hardest??

Anyone have any final words for a single mom with four kids who has spent the past two years trying her hardest to make things happen in the world of Internet Marketing?

I have spent $20,000 on my studies so far and I feel like this is the last straw for me. I wish I could say it doesn't matter but I am getting to the stage whereby I am starting to doubt my ability to get up and running here. I know it is possible to make money on the Internet and I will keep trying but I must say my spirit is just a little down right now.............

Adwords is not the center of the world. It's what, 10% of 60% of Internet's search traffic which is only 30% of all Internet's traffic? That's 3% of the market share that you lost. Big deal.

Continue what you did, just get traffic by other means - seo, article marketing, social networks, etc. Not to mention Yahoo and Bing ppc which btw are joining forces and could possibly gain a bigger market share than ever before.

You lost very little to be bothered about. It's Google that lost your business and money you would have made them.

Most people feel like giving it up at one point or another...it's those who don't that eventually succeed. Perhaps you need to step back from your studies, and what you're currently doing, and research where others are having success. This research doesn't have to cost money, either. Don't make the mistake of buying every ebook, product, etc., that comes along, and don't make the mistake of switching your approach every few weeks. Above all else - persist and you shall succeed.

    kimothy777,

I think you can keep occasionally following up with them to see if you can get the ban lifted, but I would start looking at using other advertising options in the mean time. There are a number of other options you can consider as this is not an endgame.

Take a look at facebook ads, adbrite, cubics, marchex, adknowledge, adster, bidvertiser, etc. The point is just move onto another company and service b/c Google has shown they don't want your money. Also, the comment about looking into Bing's PPC is more legitmate thanks to the recent news of that quasi-merger.

Google is too big to care about you, just as they are about the thousands of others they let fly into the wind never to return. I don't trust them for anything and have nothing to do with them. They banned me for no apparent reason too and that was a couple of years ago after years of having my account.

Move on and try to get your domain listed on page 1 and write articles etc. to help get it there. That's the only way to beat them.

    Hope this helps

Thanks for the "black hat" methods, but no thanks...
Also, please everyone take note that I believe it was a mistake of mine. I am not saying that there is anything wrong with this product. The last thing I want to do is put down someone's product without sufficient evidence. I think I did the wrong thing. The thing I am most concerned about is if goog el ahve taken action against my sites by delisting them... not the loss of adwords as I know eventually that can get fixed I think?

Well, couple of things I know that can get your sites re-indexed are modifying and/or updating your contents and building backlinks. I've few sites of my own where I can place your links (free of cost) if you need them. PM me the URLs and anchor texts and I'll place links for you on my websites.

Register a new business, use a PO Box to open a new account and get a new credit card with a different address.

Also you need a IP address that isn't tied to any of your current google accounts.

Yeah it's a pain but you have to play by Google's rules, and they're real bitches about banning accounts for unknown reasons.

I really hope Bing gains some traction.

Kimothy: At the risk of sounding harsh, in the long run Google may have done you a favor.

Once you are banned, you are banned. Google cares not a hoot about you or your business. Once you let that sink in you will be able to move forward to much more profitable schemes than having Google pay you pennies to direct customers away from your site.

Get your own affiliate links on your site - if customers are clicking google ads that are geared to the information that is on your website - tap in to that market by putting up small ads to your own affiliate product sites.

You can even create ads that look like Google's ads, but when someone clicks and makes a purchase, you get paid, not the site that Google sent your potential customer to.

Adsense seems like easy money. It is. For Google!

Take heart and try to realize that you don't need adsense. In fact, you don't even need Google. None of us do - we just think we do!

Kimothy adwords isn't the money maker it used to be anyway so it's no huge loss to you

I'd suspect that the amount of time you spent running adword campaigns could have been spent just as well (if not better) on other aspects of your business such as website building, article writing etc.

    Good luck with it all

Recently I found out I was banned also. I am fairly sure it is because of a previous account I had before I opened up a new one. I did delete the previous one but I did not confirm it. I also deleted it a month before I opened the new one.

The reason I think it was a multiple accounts problem is because I attempted to activate my new account with my card a full 2 weeks before I had any campaigns up.

I received an email saying my account was activated but until I looked into why my campaigns were not running weeks later, I did not see that my card was not charged the $5.00. I retried my card to no avail..also tried 2 others...no success.

I called my credit card to see if they denied payment to Google...nope, everything on their end was fine. My card support even saw that Google made a test charge which was successful. However, Google did not follow it up with a charge for $5.00. Also, I did not use the credit card I used on my previous account. So I sent Google support an email trying to find out what was the problem. I replied to the automatic email they sent to me.

Eventually I got 2 responses 8 hours apart...one that said sorry for the slow response and we will escalate this matter for expedited findings. The second response said I can no longer place ads with Google...ever.

Therefore, I am fairly sure it was because my previous account (which only had deleted campaigns from 2 years ago-I mean, none were running) was not totally deleted as I intended. I am guessing my account was banned 2 weeks before I uploaded my first campaign..no ads were ever shown.

It may take awhile to get a resolution, but you should really contact a Google rep with and explain your situation: What is your question? - AdWords Help

Obviously, you were unaware this product offer was a rip off. It may take awhile, but someone should be able to help if you continue to explain yourself. Also, tell your story in Google's help forums. You might get lucky and find a champion in a Google employee. Good Luck!

I came across some information that some of you might be interested in checking out.

It appears that there is a guy who is selling an e-book on how to easily reinstate suspended adwords accounts. Here's a link to his blogs: Adwords Ban

I'm curious if this guy is legit, if anyone has tried out his book and if it's worth the $100 price tag.

There apparently is, from what I heard as I haven't been banned, a special email address to use to state your case which may get you back in the game. This address was sent with the "you've been banned" email and I'm sure it would be listed on the contact us page. So $100 would be steep. At that price, I'd tell him to do it on my behalf instead of reading a book. I'm sure he probably details everything but there is no guarantee it would work. And I doubt his 72 hour claim. Still, might be worth it to learn those 9 identifiers and the 4 things you need to do. Could be worth the $100 if you are not banned and wishing to avoid being banned.
