Hi folks!

I have an established YA account level 3 and can easy make it to level 4. I was wondering if its worth doing gigs on fiverr about putting backlinks.

In other words making money with my YA account.

Are still backlink from YA valuable, would ppl still pay money for it?

I use to spend quite some time on Yahoo answers. I joined ten years ago when it was still fresh and new. But my competition put a target on my back. They kept reporting me until Yahoo finally blocked my account. I had the account for several years and made it to level 6. People really loved my answers but I was in a very competitive and super spammy niche.

There were a lot of changes made to the site, in recent years, including all the ads Yahoo has added to it. Since I'm not presently using it I can't say if it's still good to get targeted traffic or not. But I doubt it works as well as it used to. There are too many distractions on the site when people are not logged in.

I wouldn't pay for links on Yahoo answers right now. But that's just me.

Just put up your Fiverr gig and see if anyone is interested.

I used to be a mainstay at YA, and I had an awesome dummy account with a 36% best answer to answer ratio. And yes, I used to answer questions while subtly inserting links to my website. Other than that I enjoyed answering none-related questions as well, from gaming to pop culture.

However, the community there is made up of a bunch of 12 year olds asking stupid questions, so I quit. I've moved to Quora since then (I recommend checking this website out).

As for backlink aspect, it's nofollow in YA (which has some use in the digital marketing spectrum). In terms of SEO, it's worthless but it drives traffic. You'd even be able to get conversions if you're lucky.

In the context of receiving a sizeable ROI though, it's a no-no.

If your motive is to get traffic from Yahoo, then yes, you can consider it. But it's not a do follow link. So, there is no use of yahoo backlinks in an SEO perspective

Yahoo Answers are not created to build backlinks and I'm wondering that you are trying to use this reputable website just to make some money. So do you think Yahoo will tolerate this kind of promotion.

Even if a question has already been answered, some people will still ask AGAIN, so there'll always be questions for you to answer and always be traffic but it's useless for backlinks

  • As an Internet Marketer, It is very useful for getting backlink from yahoo answer. This is useful only for generating high traffic. Also, your answer must be right and well written. If you gave some boring answer then, no one will click your resource links.

As per SEO purpose, it is true no follow links doesn't works. But, Google count it as a website creativity and how gradually your no follow links increases. If you are increasing bundle of no follow links through yahoo answer then, it may harm your google ranking and as well search results.

Conclusion : Try to leave 1 no follow link/ month + Valuable Answer. (You must have to see the SEO weight of that yahoo question particular page. )

I have no idea what the heck is "website creativity" that Google supposedly somehow derives from backlinks. Probably yet another silly ad hoc rationalization for a hare-brained link scheme?

However, there's no need to build nofollow links, gradually or not gradually. That's just a pointless exercise.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

      What's your excuse?

Yahoo Answers is not an ideal place to create backlinks, especially if you think you'll make money doing it with Fiverr. If your links are not appropriate to the post question, you'll soon be banned.

I've been on YA for 10 years and have been kicked off and had my account canceled twice for excessive linking to my web site. Since then, I've rejoined, am at Level 7, and only occasionally link to my site, when it's appropriate to the question. My old links are still there along with the new links but they don't bring much traffic. Most of the people on YA are teens who don't click links, and even if they do, they are not the kind of visitors to my site that will make me money.

By the time you typed in your question, you could have had the gig up on Fiverr. By now, you'd have had your answer directly from the horse's mouth (Poor horsey, nobody's ever leaving its mouth alone!).

As far as yahoo answers goes: When I wasn't concerned about how I use my time, I felt that it made decent money trying to answer questions and occasionally working one of my sites into a response. The more sites you have the better this technique works.

Since many of my sites have content about products and offers, I felt it was very worth it at times. I don't have any real way to track conversions from something like that, but I felt like answering a question made me $100 from time to time, but it completely failed quite often as well.

I still do Quora once in awhile but I really do have better things to do with my time. I have a few sites that have pretty technical articles on them and it seems decent there. There's no ads/affiliate links on the exact pages I link to though, so it keeps the Quora cops away. I pretty much reserve it for pure white hat sites where a link could (in theory) turn into links or hopefully an epic sh1tstorm of social shares, which happens like once a year.

If you have a feeling of using your yahoo answers account, just give it a try and see what happens. Considering how the marketplace work in fiver(most of buyers are not afraid to try spending just $5), there is a good chance that you will get buyers for your gig.

...or look at 7 million existing Yahoo Answer pages & see they're all nofollow links.

Maybe Yahoo will make one exception for your link.
