Why Is My Site Ranking For The Wrong Keywords

I recently purchased GSA search engine ranker and began sending quality and relevant backlinks to my website. I checked my ranking on the Google analytics page and everything seems to be going well except that it is ranking for literally 500 keywords and not one of them is what I want. For example, I want to rank for Free dog food but it is ranking for free dog food hack, free dog food favcc, free dog food fast, free dog food no verification, etc. Why won't it rank for the exact keyword? I have been using anchored text with free dog food and not any of the other ones. And also I just used free dog food as an example, that is not my actual keyword.

    1. How tough is the competition for that main keyword? Maybe those other keywords are just easier to rank for.
    2. Don't use GSA on your money site unless you're absolutely sure you are getting quality backlinks from it.
    3. Here is what i would do. Diversify your backlink profile with generic anchors, naked urls, branded , then use PBNs to hit your main money keywords. You don't wanna get hit with an over optimization penalty, and from what you mentioned it seems like you're only hitting partial match/exact match keywords.

    4. Diversify anchors with safe links like web 2.0s, niche blog comments( adss30.com), press releases (pr whirlwind). And then hit your main money keywords with PBNs, but dont use the same keywords over and over, use synonyms, break keywords into single word anchors etc

I'm guessing Free Dog Food is probably a more competitive keyword compared to the others.

This seems like a contradiction. GSA vs. "quality and relevant"... Well, I guess it's possible.

Google Analytics is the wrong tool for that purpose. Get a decent SERP tracker or a service to see where you're really at.

    But I'd agree with ilee.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?
