This might be a easy question to answer but I looked around and there seems to be a couple of ways. I'm a little rusty but just getting back into the game for a friend.

Question is how to correctly save file on computer for youtube having seo in mind

I have a video thats called Magic Johnson - Down to Aids and Basketball Again Blues

Would the file name be

Magic_Johnson_Down_To_Aids_And_Basketball_Again_Bl ues.mp4

or

MagicJohnson_Down_To_AidsandBasketball_Again_Blues .mp4

or

???

Just a example but thats the kind of length i'm dealing with and I think I would need all the words to be included just not sure how to properly name it
Thanks in advance
Sean

My opinion is first find best keyword for your video by using keyword research tool, like "keywordplanner". Then provide exact name with hyphen "-".

YouTube uses the file name as it's initial suggestion for the title but saves the file with it's own code (that mixture of letters, numbers, etc in the file name).

There's no SEO benefit in the file name because it doesn't exist once you've uploaded the video.

I would just remove the "to" and "and"

    Magic_Johnson_Down_Aids_Basketball_Again_Blues.mp4

@trevord92 there is some speculation about ranking better on YouTube if the keywords are in the file name before uploading. I have read some case studies about it helping people, but so many things play a role in the YouTube ranks so it's hard to say if it helps or not. Doesn't hurt to do it though regardless.

I've read that before now but would be surprised if it helps in any big way or even at all.

I tend to do it but more out of laziness than anything else - saves me retyping the title when I upload the video
