Same word twice in domain?

If my website were titled "COWSODA.com" but the website was solely about cows and not soda. With "COW.com" being taken, would "COWCOW.com" be considered by Google as a direct "COW" keyword?

In other words, would having cowcow.com position my ranking higher for the keyword "COW" than if I were to have cowsoda.com?

For my actual domain name that I am considering to make such a change to, I find that by searching in Google for, in example, "cow" or "cow cow", different results are shown.

My problem is that, had my site actually been about cows or titled "cowsoda.com", there is nothing to actually be said about "soda" and the site is literally about "cows" and cows only. Then, my ads are targeting "soda" and other nonsense.

Would, in this case, changing the site to "cowcow.com" be beneficial if there were no other choices? and would this be the NEXT BEST THINGS to cow.com?

  • Indeed it will

    dumdumpops.com ranks for dum

  • The only thing that having the keyword in your domain name is really going to help you rank for is something that nobody is trying to rank for.
  • Cowcow.com sounds like a funny name

But anyway, yes it's alright foryour purpose, please don't use cow soda as your domain name unless you want to use it for your brand name. Soda is completely irrelevant to cows.

Or you could go for something like an (adjective)cow.com. Without being sure of what exactly you want your site to be, I can't suggest super creative names.

    • Google places less importance on exact match domains and can sometime even penalized you for using it just for keyword stuffing. Think of your domain as more of a brand. Cow Soda is actually pretty funny, and could be turned into a brand if it matches your business.
  • If you have keyword in your domain name that will really help you alot when doing the seo

    • Be careful. If you post the kind of stuff that hasn't worked for half a decade people may notice that you're a time traveller from the past.

  • In my view choose the correct keyword related to your brand if the domain name cowcow.com is not available means just try another one like .net or .co.in or .info. Otherwise try cowandcow.com/cowncow.com.
