Help!! Is my site Penalized ?

Hey all,

I did a site:mysite.com and saw that the root domain at #2, it should be #1 but it;'s not.
#1 is an inner page of the site.



Does this mean my site is penalized ?
Please help..


The problem is root domain is not #1 other than that, everything is fine. All pages are indexed and I'm even ranking for a keyword on page 1 and others on page 5, page 6 etc but I'm just worried if there is anything wrong with my site ?

  • I think don't...i have websites with the same problem, and don't lost traffic and any positions for this.

    First site have the keywords (Map Basics)
    And second have the keywords (How to make money online with maps)

  • No, this isn't a sign of being penalized. It's just the way Google is choosing to display it and doesn't really have any impact on your rankings. Once you don't see it there anymore, that's when it becomes time to worry.

    If you're still unsure then make sure you have the website added into Google Webmaster Tools. Then you'll be alerted if any problems arise.

  • Your inner page ranked well than home page. That means, your site not penalized by google. So you don't need to worry.

  • You have to checkout Webmaster tools to see what is the problem in order to fix it.
  • No your Domain is not penalized by Google because if your domain is penalized then non of its internal links is shown in Google SERP.
  • Your website looks alright! there is nothing to worry about. Simply keep up with your legitimate marketing techniques.

    if your site penalized you got a message in webmasters. it's a normal.
