How do we find out if the site is penalized by google?

Hey Warriors. How do we find out if the site gets a Google penalty? (Excluding the rankings/SERP dropped Reason).

    Adding the website to Google Webmaster Tools is probably the first step. If there are any issues with the domain or website Google Webmaster Tools will normally be the first to alert you and let you know. Aside from that, you can use other sites like Ahrefs and MajesticSEO to manually look at links coming into the site..etc. From there you can try to manually identify and remove/disavow them yourself.

    You probably would get a Google Webmasters notification about something which needs to be fixed. It's highly important to check your webmasters account every now and then because e-mails might fall into your promotions section or trash can rather than your inbox.

    Is there any chance to check an expired domain for google penalty? Just in-case i want to buy an expired domain and check first if it was penalized by google at some point without checking GWT/GSC. Is this possible?

    Check your google webmaster tools. If your site has any kind of penalty it should be listed there.

    I am also interested in this question. Not sure there is a way you can know except you add it to GWT but analysing the backlinks would be a difficult step.

    If the backlinks are clean, then the website should be clean
