It's probably been discussed here before, but what are the current thoughts on DMOZ link relevancy?

  • Its just a good link to have, nothing more, nothing less.
It probably worth the time to suggest your site once and move on and get on with your life.... you will either get listed or not listed eventually.
  • It is owned by AOL but constructed and maintained by a community of volunteer.Google Directory used DMOZ information. It has PA-95, DA-96 ,PR-7.So backlinks from DMOZ still having a amazing value.

    • It's not that straightforward. The page your link ends up on isn't their front page, and your link is on a page that has several other links that severely dilute the link juice.

To OP: I might try it depending on the category, but there seems to be no administrator for any category my pages match. I've completely given up on DMOZ.

  • I don't know how people actually manage to get in DMOZ, I wish I could, it is very hard to get someone there to take a look at your website, don't spend too much time on it.

    • About the only way to get in anymore is to pay an editor or pay someone that knows an editor.

  • DMOZ is simply a hobby and Editors categorize websites for the web surfers.
  • It's good but they're not worth every second of your work time to dwell over. Just submit to them and that's it. After that, move on to other parts for your SEO.
