We're a company doing mostly social media. A lot of your clients are asking if we can make them rank higher than their competition on google.

Currently we are posting one blog post a month, and did some on page SEO.

What else can we do to get their sites ranking higher? And what time frame can we provide our clients?

Any help would be appreciated

A company with only limited knowledge with social media, blog posting, and some On Page SEO? Honestly, An individual can all do that with real knowledge and well experienced in the field.
Regarding on the time frame only your company can provide that not us, because we can advice, but not doing all the job for your company or unless your clients will pay us instead.

Reality really hurts and a lot of your kind are plaguing different forum sites and posting obvious thread like Naets does. Relying on Spoon feeding from variety of forum sites rather than on the so called expert services company.

    1. Select low competitive high search volume keywords (use google keyword planner,ubersuggest.org,soovle.com)

    2. Try to understand your competitors backlink profiles (use ahref, majecticseo, opensite explorer)

    3. Check is there any chance to get backlink from them

    4. Contact other web masters related to your niche and ask backlink from them

    5. Try to create backlinks from 404 link building method

    6. When you are writing blog posts write over 1500+ words completely descriptive articles

Getting backlinks from 404 pages is the process of finding 404 pages (pages doesn't work anymore) & try to contact people still linking to them to get backlinks.
        1. Find 404 pages of your competitors by using tools like seocentro.com
        2. Create a great piece of content by looking to the 404 pages with the WayBackMachine & copy the subject or the idea
        3. Contact people linking to this page &ask them for a Link by mentioning that you found them linking to the 404 page

High quality articles can beat your competitor rank. Monthly blog posting is not enough. Update your blog daily or weekly basis. More contents you write, more exposure you'll get. More customer you can attract by more contents. Not only that but also automatically you'll get rank whenever you have resource. Try SEMRUSH to spy competitors.

The same suggestions over & over again. Why must people just follow like sheep?
Taking into account that the Big-G is just another company which was clever enough to blind the world with there BS and Animal name calling, but everybody seem to think what these people say is Gospel.
But NO, NO not at all as it is not because what 'Naets' for his company wants can be achieved in no time well say give or take at the start maybe 3 Days & successfully I mite add as I never stooped doing it since 1999 except over the years it was extremly fine tuned!
The Internet has not changed much since its creation, and the Gurus which created it did not give the Big-G the key they gave it to everybody and with that it is still as easy as - to do something IF you do address their standard rules & regulation as the net is/was build up on. All companies like ..... they all have to adhere to these basic rules & in me addressing these plain & simple rules I get anybody in less then .... acknowledged because one of these Internet secrets is simple 'Acknowledgement Through Association' so not quiet Rocket science! rgs aktell

What I will suggest you is that continuous posting on any site won't help you a lot to get the site at top position quickly. What you should do you must use quality contents in whatever you are posting and must be catchy as well. The more you find interesting the more you will get the attention of people towards your business.

Just after employing this strategy in your working techniques you can easily rank a website in different search engines easily.

You're not really doing much. Are you tracking rankings for keywords? Have you done any research on the niche and competition? Are you trying to come up with new keywords to target? Are you doing any kind of link building or outreach (apart from posting to social media and wishing for the best)?

If your method is "post and pray" I don't know how you could even come up with a time frame. You've not provided any data on the client site, the goals they've got, or competition. The most precise answer I'd be willing to give is somewhere between two weeks and never.

And KylieSweet is right. If you're asking for money you should know how to do the job, or hire someone who does.
    Signature
Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

Do you mean "Our Clients"? I can imagine your clients are asking. Google is now taking Social posts quite seriously so I would concentrate on what you cliam to be Social Media business...

One post a month. Refer to my previous statement. Stick to Social Media. Only some on page SEO. Stick to Social Media and outsource.

Gain more Social Media interaction. Stick to your core business Social Media.
    Time frame lord knows...

After reading this I bang my head off desk...
    Good luck

You need to look around your area for a company that does SEO but doesn't do social media.

Hook up with them. Tell them that you do social media but not SEO and offer to sell their services under a white label deal. Offer them your services for their clients under a white label deal.

Hopefully both of you will win in the end by utilizing each others strengths and gaining more customers. Think of it like this. An SEO company that doesn't do social media has 20 clients that they bill monthly to do SEO.

Mind you I'm pulling this number out of thin air... But out of 20 of this SEO companies clients maybe 5 would like to run some type of social media campaign along with their SEO services. That's 5 clients that you may be able to pickup right there. Of course you'll have to turn the SEO company on to your clients that want SEO services. Either that or white label each others services.
