Success stories? New site competing against established sites?

Scenario:

New site 6-7 months old, has content that needs optimized, very few backlinks, starting to grow social media presence. Targeting a specific area but open to areas nationwide. The area it is targeting has very low to no search volume for targeted keywords.

Competitors are established, has lots of content, thousands of backlinks.


Anyways, this is just an example but does anyone have any success stories of putting a new site on to page 1 and outranking your competitors in a competitive niche? How long did it take you and what did you focus on?

    In past i have ranked for many keywords with various new methods. But nowadays it became very difficult. It is giving preferences to brands only

      ....and what were those "new methods"? what did you do? how was it "difficult"? and "giving preference to brands only"? I wouldn't really say that.

    If in SEO on-page & off-page everything is done white hat manually in a process. Anyone can achieve this goal. But remember one single mistake can harm your site.
