301 Post Redirect - Good or Bad Idea?

I have a website that I have transferred from shopify to WP and it has weird link structure such as:

mysite.com/4545/live-happy/best-quotes-ever

I'd like to trim the url and setup 301 redirect for it, so it just short and simple as "mysite.com/best-quotes-ever".

The question is will my SEO suffer?

Please suggest from personal experience!

    It shouldn't effect. But it would be good if you redirect it smartly and correctly.

    It depends how you do it, I recommend you to read this https://www.addedbytes.com/articles/...for-beginners/ it will help you to understand how to make a redirection via .htaccess on your server or how to request it if need it.
