I've been using Google Analytics focussing on traffic in the Search channel to avoid referral spam that I've been experiencing. But is it safe to assume that all traffic in this channel is spam free? I can't see how a referral spammer would gain from keyword "(not provided)" spam, but I thought I'd check anyway.
Can keyword "(not provided)" search traffic be spam?

Is there any reason to doubt the authenticity of this traffic?
