No. Rel="nofollow" is an attribute that's added to some links. Usually it's those who are provided by the users, so the service doesn't take any responsibility for them.

you can still use to social networks for traffic even if the links are nofollow. also it looks more natural in your link profile if you also have some nofollow links.

Some people believe in this "natural link profile" hypothesis. If you're just an average webmaster you can just ignore it. It's speculation that isn't relevant to your situation.

If your strategy is spam then you do need to worry about the kind of links you build, but there seems to be no indication that building random nofollow to "balance the profile" would help.

PR is by page not by site.

To get the benefit of the high PR, you'd have to get a link from the high pr page(s). Or from a page the high PR page links to (assuming it doesn't link to hundreds of pages).

Those who talk about this in SEO context are claiming that it helps you to rank. These people also claim that it's "high PR" because the front page seems strong.

However, they're wrong in most cases. Backlinks from social bookmarking sites are typically on a new weak page, and the sites also typically bury those in profile pages and searches. You're not getting your link anywhere near that front page, and the internal link structure basically guarantees that the benefit is going to be minuscule.

For social bookmarking site list easily you can search by writing "Social bookmarking site list" " Dofollow social bookmarking sites" etc Keywords on google or other search engines.
It's need to remember that any sites can't give you actual 100% working sites.

Your post gave me 2 brain farts. What if, instead of telling them bookmarking sites give nofollow links and nofollow links don't help SEO, I create a bunch of sites, call them BookMarking sites and sell bookmarks at a penny each? And, of course, sell the list of my sites for $97, except to members of Warrior Forum, I sell for only $7?

I'll be rich inside a week.

I think I might just do that.

This whole thread is rich..rich with classic nonsense from people
who have no clue.

None of the name brand social bookmark crapola above is
not nofollow. Even though they keep saying the same ones,
over and over, and over and over. As if by magic, those sites
will take the nofollow tag off.
