Debating on a strategy...

I'm looking to get my money site to jump rank from page #3 back to #1 on Google... I'm wondering where I should put my time and effort in.

1st option: Take the time to build a PBN & point links to my money site.
If I choose this option I'm considering buying expired domains for my tiers and boosting my lower tiers with GSA. (Seems like a bit of work..but might be able to leverage some SEO juice to sell elsewhere) I've drip fed my site with Nuke in the past and it worked well 2 years ago. I'm afraid things have changed and I'm not sure if my old tactics will work today.

2nd option: (LEANING TOWARDS) I invest in linksmanagement.com and buy/rent high PR links. The only issue I see here is that to gain the appropriate rank I may need a considerable amount of links. (I haven't used this tactic before so I'm unsure. Research on my competitors says that they're holding rank off numerous links with low PR value). Might be something to consider.

3rd. I go about it the slow and steady way of creating organic content and backlinks and give up on the idea that there's a fast track to gaining rank. I'm doing this anyways but I'd like a method to move forward at a faster rate.

What are your suggestions?

The standard response for any fast and real results seems to be paid advertising (ppc ads). But buying/renting links is not recommended based on Google's reaction to paid links. I suppose it depends on how you do it, of course. Most IMers tend to purchase them from outlets, such as the one you suggested. But it would be a mistake to think Google can't track that kind of stuff and then take an undesirable action against your site.

    I wouldn't risk it.

Ads and organic content/links are today's (low-cost) modus operandi.
