Hello everyone!

I would like to share with you some of my thoughts. When I first started with SEO, almost a decade ago, the things were simple. All links were valuable, negative SEO wasn't a reality and automation tools were at their peaks.

Back then almost no one was thinking about Whitehat SEO. Blackhat gave must better and faster results. You could have your website skyrocketed in SERPs with just forum profiles for very competitive terms and stay there for months!

This golden era of SEO has passed. Today the tricks of the past will guarantee you a fast trip to oblivion of rankings. Nowadays Whitehat SEO is a necessity because Blackhat doesn't work or to be more precise, doesn't work as good as in the past.

All we can see the decline of Blackhat SEO. The old tools aren't updated any more, we can't see Blogspot or WordPress.com sites high at the SERPs for competitive terms and the flow of new case studies and loopholes/exploits in engine algorithms has been decelerated remarkably.

I quite miss the old days...

    Hahaha good post OP. Keep on spreading this mentality, it really helps us who are still making money with blackhat SEO out! The less people who enter this realm, the more we can profit.

    The barrier to entry is pretty awesome IMO.

      IMO there needs to be more honest SEOs. Not once in my career as a web developer and entrepreneur have I used or met one that is;

      1. 100% honest & transparent
      2. Doesn't talk of if his ***
      3. Delivers what they say
      4. Delivers long term results

      For this reason, I just stopping hiring them to work on my stuff.

    I agree with you 100%. Black hat is no more. Google tries their best to give best customer satisfaction for their customers. If our site cannot satisfy user intention, we are out from ranking.
    Now SEO is a continuous process. Earlier we could get ranking easily by building some links. But those days are over. Now SEO job is more challenging. So I think it’s good for people like me who do SEO as a career.
