Are backlinks to individual posts important?

I have noticed that I have a lot of backlinks to my home page but very few if any to individual posts. Are backlinks to individual posts equally important as backlinks to the home page? More important? Less important?

Does adding backlinks to individual posts improve PR and PA or have no effect at all?

Has anyone tested this?

    I believe as long as where the links point to contain relevant information, then they are treated equally across your whole domain. Believe it or not the robots even check the anchor text and surrounding text of the link to see if where the link goes to is relevant or not.

    If you want them to rank or get traffic, yes. Depends what the point of the post is.

    The backlinks of inner pages are important and that is natural. How it is possible that a site is gaining backlinks all of HomePage

    This is increase the PA of individual pages and they all will equally rank for different keyterms. But the home page backlinks will increase only DA and this will only rank your home page.

    off course back links are most important for website because if u get more traffic you have must be get more & more back links your site

    Yes its important to add links to your subpages as well. Especially if you want to rank you subpages for specific keywords in Google. I have a site that shows up on google for my homepage but a lot of traffic comes from a subpage of mine.
