Hi All,

Just a quick question on URL restructuring. We are in a plan to restructure the URLs of our website as we have come up with a streamlined segregation of the products. For ex "www.example.com/abcd.html" will be changed to "www.example.com/product/abcd.html". One more ex "www.example.com/xyz.html" will be changed to "www.example.com/solution/xyz.html". In the above two examples product and solution are the folders. We are in a plan to have a more structured URL.

As we have already gained a specific set of rankings and authority for the current URLs. What could be the best practice to retain the same with the new URL structure? Will a 301 redirection do the job? Or there is any other plan upon implementing which there should not be any threat in loosing the ranking and authority? Also please share the challenges and how to overcome those.

Please share your valuable feedback on the same.

Regards,
Robert
