One of the top KEYWORDS for our product is: Hair Salon

I notice that most companies that have the words: Hair Salon in their URL, are ranked on the first page, even though they don't have much of a site etc, How they get top in Google.

I want to put a new website on the first page of Google for the keyword: Hair Salon

Suggest me new website url weather I go with Hairsalon.us like that or I have to continue with previous one.

Which of the following the best?

hair--salon.com
hairsalon.biz
hairsalon.info
hairsalon.us
hairsalon.review

    I suggest first one but I don't agree that sites with keyword in domains ranks higher. It is so few years back, but according to Google latest updates Google does not pay attention to keyword in URL.

    Don`t focus too much on exact match domain, of course it has influence on efficiency of SEO for such phrase but not for very competetive keywords.

    For such keyphrases people using PBN`s , and mostly hide their footprints by exclude robots of most popular backlinks checkers to avoid compromise their network. So in most cases you will see nothing in semrush or majesticseo or ahrefs (: and try to figure out how the hell they get there without single backlink (((:

    Belive me , they have a lot of backlinks (from PBNs you can`t see)

    I suggest hairsalon.usif you are based in US. Also, you could use tools like spyfu.com to see what keywords use your competitors, see for organic keywords posibilities

      You are not going to get #1 for hair salon
      unless you are a hair salon, and, you are in
      the immediate area of the searcher.

      Domain has zip to do with it.

      Did a sample search, not a single domain or url
      has hair salon in it.

      That's like saying you can't compete for hamburgers
      unless you have hamburger in your domain.

      If you had a hair salon, you would be advertising first,
      not relying on local, maps, seo, or any other such nonsense.

      You are not going to get hairsalon.us, or anything comparable.

      Google does not rank sites because of domains.

      If you wish, just redirect your domain to domain.com/hair-salon.php
      or similar. Instant url with hair salon.

      You could go whole hog, from the sublime to the insane, and get
      hhhhhhhhhairsalon.com

    Biggest no no in domain names is to use "--" so I would not use hair--salon.com believe me I learnt the hard way on that one.

    As has already been said Google pays no attention to keywords in domain names so go with what you like make up something catchy and short or simply the name of the hair salon. oh and try and stay with a .com

    I agree what has been said above that the URL artifacts keywords are too influential to rank sites, if any of our competitors that is rated top in its URL are keywords because they use SEO techniques are good, if not implementing SEO impossible to can go to the one what with the high competitors keywords.
