As far as I'm concern posting quality articles in some authority sites will give backlink to my site but are there other ways of creating backlinks without writing content? Please give me suggestions.

    Also create some you-tube videos and updates in to you-tube with your link. This will help you to improve seo.

    There are lots of ways you can get backlinks without creating content, here are few ways
    => Local citation (if you are running a local business)
    => Social Bookmarks
    => Quality directory listing (just focus on quality directories)
    => Blog commenting
    => Forum signature (only focus on relevant forums, and try to participate on relevant discussion)
    => Podcast (if you are comfortable with voice content)
    => Image / Infograph submission on various image sharing site like Pinterest.
    => Professional social networks like linkedin, about.com ello, medium etc.

    There are lots more other tricks, but these are few of the ways by which you can get backlinks without producing text content.

    You need at least one piece of content or at least something "shareable" on your website before people will link to it. Obviously nobody is going to link to a blank page.

    Then it is just a matter of outreaching to the people who might be interested in linking to it and let them know that it exists.
