Desperately Need Help Using Adwords...

Hi all,

This is my first real go around using Google Adwords and I cannot get it to work for the life of me.

I first set everything up accordingly, my keywords were showing a quality score of 7/10, everything looked great. 10 days later and still not showing ads so I emailed Google support...4 days later they replied and said I just wasn't patient enough and that they are showing now. Sweet!...

I think I got about 17 clicks and 2 opt-ins which is great...only the ad campaign and keywords got pulled after a few hours of being up. My quality score went down to 1/10.

So then I didnt know what to think, I uped my bid, raised my daily budget and let it set for another week...nothing.

I did some research about how to use Adwords (didn't know you would need an Adwords degree before using it) and erased my old campaign and started a new one using new keywords and a new add.

After I set it up, it is now showing a 2/10 for QS and my ads are not showing because..."The keyword phrase currently doesn't trigger any of your ads"

"What does this mean?
There are a variety of reasons why your keyword is not triggering any ads. If you've just added the keyword phrase to your campaign, you may want to check back in a few moments to see if the status for your keyword has changed. Our specialists review each submitted keyword, so you may experience a momentary delay. Another explanation is that our system may be experiencing a delay."

It's been another 5 or so days and they are still not showing. Am I just not being patient enough? Do I have to wait another 10 days and email them again? I thought adwords was supposed to be a quick and easy way to get traffic?

Here's my info...

ad: Must Read Guinea Pig Info
Keep your guinea healthy and happy
Order Now Save $5. Instant Download

Keywords:
[guinea pig info]
[guinea pig health]

daily budget:
$10
bid:
$0.33 (i just raised it from .25 to see if it would work)

website:
http://www.guineapig-petcare.com

Any help here sure would be appreciated. I want to get this campaign moving!

Matt

    Hi Matt,

Maybe you're having problems with Adwords because your website is down; at least, it won't resolve on my computer.

It is a quick way to get traffic. But you have to know what you're doing.

I notice you use only two keywords and you use exact match types. Put some phrase matches in there. Also, it seems your keywords could be a bit vague. I think you are selling "guinea pig info" but exactly what kind of info? Health I'm guessing here. Is it an ebook? Video? How about using "guinea pig books" and "books about guinea pigs"? Maybe there's something in there about raising guinea pigs. Expand your keywords - relevant keywords - and you'll get more impressions.

Your ad is also weak. Other than your site being down right now, your low QS is likely due more to nobody clicking on your ad. Try more ads. I would get rid of the "save $5" line. A variation of the first line I'd try and put it on the second line is "For healthy, happy guinea pigs."

    Thanks Lucid,

    This helps a lot.

I added some more keyword phrases to the same ad campaign and they are scoring 5/10. My ads are still not showing.

I noticed under my "ads" tab it shows that my ad is still under review. Why does this process take so long?

    Hello Matt

I looked ito your website and you should add some content to it. Google is becoming a lot more strict with affiliate sites.
    So,
    1. Add a blog -wordpress- If you have Fantastico Deluxe in your hosting program then its a snap- Make three posts and that's it
    2. Add resources and post three articles in it (does not need to be unique content).
This is the very basic and should help in raising your poor QS

    In Adwords:
Create an Ad Group for each indevidual keyword and bid on broad, exact and phrase-->create 2 ads for each

Bid for the first couple of days for Exact & Phrase double the minimum bid after the 2 days lower the bid.

    This should be it
