How do these blogs grow & recruit writers to write for free?

What is the key to growing in traffic. Some say many articles, then Brian dean & Neil Patel say promotion, promotion, promotion etc. Others will say write good content and google will love it but no marketing with good content seems very unrealistic. (Sure good content will get shared but not every article these big blogs write is "Good" trust me I know)

It seems that these blogs don't spend all day outreaching so there is definitely more to growing a authority blog.

I am looking to get experienced blog owners opinions.

Regards,

Edward

What blogs are you talking about? If it's the most well-known ones there's probably writers in line to guest post and they can just choose.

If it's about blogs then probably finding your audience. Yes, that often requires both good content and advertising. It doesn't hurt if you're enthusiastic enough to write just to learn. I feel that monetizing is something that comes naturally if you ever get that far.

It is not just about creating good content and sharing it. There is allot SEO that gets done to make sure there post hit the first page og google.

Neil Patel for example is a guy who not only writes good articles but knows how to do SEO the right way.

It begins with research, especially keyword research and finding relevant keywords with high search volume.

Then you write post around those keywords, preferably use one keyword phrase per post and use different variations of that keyword in the article.

You can also try to find articles in your niche that have a huge amount of back links. This means people like linking to that content. Once you find article like that try to create similar articles but better. If you create content that people like to link to then you will get more traffic.

Once you you have good articles that people like to link to with high search volume keywords worked in and properly optimized for search engines, then you can promote and share them.

You need to build authority to your articles by creating back links to them.

Allot of famous bloggers like Neil Patel started out by doing blog commenting and writing guest posts. Find relevant blogs where you can write guest posts and promote your own blog at the same time.

The more websites have links pointing to your articles the better they will rank and the more traffic you will get.

Patel is not a SEO. He's very good at trolling and link-baiting, though.

There's the obvious SEO-related problem to this approach. You're trying to write a direct competitor to something that's already successful, and try to outrank something that has a strong link profile. It's very probable that you need to find the people to link from somewhere else.

I'm pretty sure that your generalization isn't true. I'm sure all of us have commented on blogs, but that's got nothing to do with writing good articles.

Patel's own bio states that he got into marketing because his then-marketing partners got nothing done. He got to startup businesses when he was relatively young, and started Crazy Egg early on. He's a world-class hustler, but probably not your prime example of someone who's famous for guest blogging.
