Example:

old url - sample.com/locations/illinois/chicago/awesomepark.php

new url - sample.com/areas/chicago/awesome-park

- the old url no longer exists
- the old page does not have a 404
- the old page does not have a 301
- the old page does not have any meta tags
- the old page simply does not exist and is not accessable

So how would I tell google, which has the old url listed in GWT and in search to de-index it and remove it from search and cache?

(by the way, there are hundreds of URLs.....so how do I BULK de-index them?)

In Google's webmaster tools, use the deindex tool and give the url /locations and pick the directory option. Everything in that directory goes poof.

A better question is what do you hope to gain by using areas instead of locations. It simply won't matter in ranking.

      If a URL went from:

      (another example)

      sample.com/locations/illinois/chicago/awesomepark.php

      to

      sample.com/locations/illinois/chicago/awesome-cool-park-in-the-world

and I have another URL called sample.com/locations/illinois/chicago/swimming-poll that I want to keep.

I don't want to remove all of the pages in the directory. Just some.

We all have our own beliefs when it comes to SEO based on our own tests and experienes. I happen to personally believe that specific keywords and how you use them with other keywords in your URL affects your ranking
