Somebody set up an A/B test on my site, but I'm not super confident in them..

and for some reason, my url is REALLY long on the main page, and variation page... is this normal?

Could he have set it up wrong?

Thanks

  • This type of thing could really vary. Is your website using Wordpress with some sort of plugin? I don't think it would be too "out of the ordinary" for your landing pages to have a URL 2-3 directories deep.

    • I see it is also including the referring source, etc. in the url, could probably scare visitors... any ideas?

  • Which system are you using to run the tests? It may or may not be normal for that system.

Also, make sure you're not viewing some sort of preview version. If your conversion optimizing consultant sent you links to look at that's probably ones you're viewing.

The systems I've used had different tactics to display the different versions, so no long URLs on the production sites. But I can't make any sweeping statements after having used two systems of the all possible ones out there.
