Hello Warrior forum,

I am a digital marketing student in a Digital marketing class right now where we are trying to get our site to get on the first page of google results for a certain long tail keyword. Right now my site is 4th out of about 40 sites in the class, but it has been falling for a couple days! I post up new content every couple days and post it to social media networks, but what else can I do to get my site highly ranked? I want to try and get some high quality back links to my site. I've read a few posts on this forum about back links but am still a little confused about how to get them or where to get them? Thank you!

  • I would remove the link and place in the signature... This is NOT the right way to get a backlink from the forum! And also I would read some other threads here first before starting such new threads!
  • If your site is already ranking on 4th then go for high quality PBN links. Mix them up with some web 2.0.
  • Still backlinks works like magic in SEO world. Backlink is always the best way to get in top.

    • New content and regular post in the social media are not enough to rank in Google remember that they have so many metrics to consider you site so it will start on how to target your audience with new and interesting content then it must be engaging to produce a signal for the search engine.

This post has nothing to do with the thread above.
    • Such an elaborate response. Must have taken some time to come up with that. Anyways if you want to learn about seo you should spend the next few weeks reading up about it then practicing it yourself. Or you could always hire someone else to do it.
  • Unique articles on RELATED high DA/PA sites work perfectly
  • I'm a student in business school taking a SEO class, so i think learning it myself is the way ill go. Im adding content about 2/3 times a week while promoting it on twitter. I'm getting added to "lists" and getting favored by people. Im going to keep posting content and try to get people to click it over social media. My twitter has gotten me lots of views. Also, do views change your page ranking? I was first for a day now back to third. Thank for the advice though.

    • Nope, pageviews have nothing to do with ur page ranking.

    • Posting content does not improve your rankings. It can help a little if you are using good internal link structure, but even then just posting 2-3 times a week doesn't mean much.

Twitter is pretty much useless for SEO unless you happen to get the attention of people who are willing to link to you. I don't mean share the link on Twitter. I mean posting the link on other websites.

Sounds like the class is not teaching much about how actual SEO works.

  • Be careful if you are sing PBN, don't leave footprints if you are going to use analytics use a 3rd party one see signature.

Geez, are there really classes like this? Is it an actual school class (community college)?

They haven't taught you anything about backlinks & they have you trying to rank a webpage on Google SERPs?

You don't stand a chance on ranking anything without strong followed backlinks.

I should be a professor at a local community college.
