What are the lates and most effective link building techniques?

My company has create a Brands website. The need me to bring it to top of Search Engine with some brand-name queries and some common non competitive keywords.
So after On Page i want to do some Off Page too. So what Off Page techniques are still working and have better impact on ranking?
Its not for traffic or anything else. My company just want their website to be on top with these keywords and that's why i can't argue with them. They have a marketing team and they just want me to do this.

What i,m thinking is Guest Posting, Press release submission, Social Bookmarks, Infographics and Article Submission.

    Guest posting. Link exchanges. PBN (just be careful with theses). Relevant backlinks with low out bound links. Basically getting a link on a high authority site always helps. And if you want to build brand awareness social media is the way to go!

    All of the things you stated as you were "thinking" of doing is everything that I was going to suggest. I would say that you are on the right track. As for using Social Media, it is a great way to get traffic and having your content and links shared.

      What makes blog commenting effective? Is it the best you know? What?

    Just a concrete addition not repeating all great advices above.

    In most of my post on Facebook, I'm adding a signature (this being not a common practice) including a link toward my FB pages whose Dedee (see my signature).

    Example in the attached screenshot below (here in French, because my personal profile is in French).
