For on-page SEO many seo experts say that article title should be in H1 tag because search engines gives priority to H1 tags.My question is if i use H2 tag and my content is unique do google give me same priority or not?.Thank's and pardon my English.

Its use should be based around hierarchy, H1 is generally used for the main header title for a section of a page whereas H2 would be the title for a subsection of this. Think of them like chapter and section headings in a book where the first chapter (<h2>) starts right after the title of the book (<h1>). The h2 tag should generally be a description of the h1 tag.

How Google treats the tags are down to structure, don't think of them as whether or not they're unique, but rather whether they're relevant to what you're trying to deliver on the page.

    H1 = Main Keyword
H2 = Secondary keywords you're trying to rank for also
h2 tags are sometimes the same as your anchor texts while linkbuilding :-)

    Hope this is helpful
if you have any more questions about this topic or Seo in general,
    just ask ;-)

Better using <h1> tags for the entire page header & <h2> for any content or paragraph header.

I would use H1 tag for your MAIN keyword (and only once in the article)... And a few H2 tags (for your secondary keywords - in most cases these are good LTK (Long-Tail Keywords!).. but not more than 2-3

When you write a story, article, document you always include a header so the reader knows what the document is about.

Well this is also applied to most pages.

Think of a H1 as the title of the page.

Also only use it once on each page

You're better off having a unique page <title> and a different but very similar <h1> text.

Google will use heading tags as alternative SERP titles depending on the search query. That gives you multiple focused SERP titles instead of a static one size fits all SERP title. Very focused SERP titles help boost CTRs.

I don't know, google said to make sure the H-tags are in order, and not to skip around numbers (H2, then, H3, then H1 would be bad they say)

H1 is prime so the target KW should be based there in addition to the title.

Your post title should be in H2 tag. Google also gives priority to H2 tags.

Well as we all know that headings plays an imperative role in Search Engine Optimization. So, for this purpose one can use H1 for our main title of our blog posts including our main keyword in H1.

While on the other hand one can use H2 and H3 in subheadings. In H2 you can add your secondary keywords.

    Hope this answer is useful.

  • H1 tag using for main heading and it's true that Google give high priority to H1 tag. H2 tag using for sub-heading. Google crawler read the content like human. Human always give high priority to main heading instead of sub-heading so it's sample use H1 tag to get high priority from Google end.

Yes, Google also give a handsome value to H2 Tag as well. But the best option is that you can use H1. Because it is highly recommended.
