Webmaster tools help please

ok, I use webmaster tools, and it shows I have 286 ranking terms , and it list what position there in right... simple...

However, when I check many of the keywords, some are showing up, but some are not... I have many 1-20 rankings, and most of them are not showing up where webmaster tools says they should be when I live google search them... Why not? what am i doing wrong?

Your question is not clear. You have 286 keywords in your webmaster and its not showing that's what i understood.

Ok, so in webmaster tools I have many keywords... Example: Widgets for sale shows me at spot 14... I go to google and type in "widgets for sale" and I can not find my website listing anywhere???? how come?

Have you been using a proper SERP tracker? I would not put too much faith on Google WMT's reports on these.

Google webmaster takes time to show data however if you have good position against your "xyz" keyword, it will take 15 days or more for webmaster to show "xyz" query and other related query.
