I recently purchased 2 domain names that have expired.. they are both 5+ years old and im hoping to use them to help rank my main website which has pretty damn poor rankings atm it's only a month old (and the domain).

How best can i exploir these 2 domains names?

Should i build them into web 2.0 sites and have links back to my main site, or should i just link them back to my main website..

im not sure how google ranking works. would having aged domains linking back to my main website carry some weight with them? more so than turning them into web 2.0s?

If you bought the domains just because they're 5 years old you've wasted your money. Domain age doesn't rank pages.

The backlink profile & history of the domain is what matters. Followed backlinks from authority pages is what you need to be looking for. By domain history I mean did the last person that owned your domains abuse those domains (pharma, payday, etc...) to the point Google would deindex the domains from the SERPs. Look at the domain history on Wayback.

That's basically what you need to be looking for when building a PBN.

Do the domain research (backlink profile, Wayback, etc...) before you buy the domain otherwise you're gambling.

Mike Friedman has a PBN course.

Or you could just reverse engineer the link building campaigns of various SEO sites using various tools. A course might be faster but I doubt you would learn as much.

Edit: Granted you would have to understand basics or reversing the campaigns would be meaningless.

No offense to OP but he needs more experience otherwise he's wasting money because he's obviously not ranking any pages based on a 5 year old domain.

I've seen 15 year old domains with very few useful links. Useless as far as SEO.

Domain age doesn't matter much. Additionally, if the domains were really expired (and not bought at auction before they were dropped), then they aren't aged. At expiration the domain age clock resets. Enter one of the domains in whois and look at the "creation date." It will be the date *you* registered the domain, not the date the previous owner registered it.

How are the metrics? Being expired and low metrics adds no value. Could be spammed to death and probably hurt your rankings.

Don't mind dear, maybe you waste your money buying this 2 domain. Nevertheless let make a WordPress blog with fully loaded unique and resourceful content and fresh image (infographic works nowadays). Maybe you will get a good result!
