SEO for multiple similar keyword sites

I'm not sure if that title made any sense...

BUT, my question is best explained in scenario;

Say I owned 15 very similar keyworded websites, lets say:
bestautorepaircalifornia
bestautorepairtexas
bestautorepaircolorado

and so on, and so on.

My goal is to try and rank these very highly on google using whitehat SEO with organic traffic over the next couple years, and possibly flip them and or make money from adwords or advertising.

SO, can I use the same articles and blog posts to do this, since I'm really just trying to dominate the demographic niche, and not the whole internet per se'

How do I obtain backlinks? Can I post with all the websites url addresses with one source, such as social media?

Any advice is greatly appreciate.

Thanks!

First of all, no you cant use same content for all website. It creates duplicate issue and you might be penalized for it. So you need to use separate unique content for each of the pages for each of the website. I will go for a brand website with multiple landing pages which is much easier to work. Like -

bestautorepair.com (it would be main website)
    bestautorepair.com/California
    bestautorepair.com/Texas

Something like this. So you just need to write the each landing pages articles and rest of the pages like about us and others are not. But if you want to run separate website you need to write all pages separately.

And for back links if you run multiple domain that means each website will demand separate SEO campaign. You need to treat each website is your different project. And definitely same issue you cant build links using same articles for all website. Yes you can anchor back 2-3 website from one article from a single blog post but actually it will make your work more harder. But if you use multiple landing pages which help to diversify your anchor text, link back page and others. Also your website authority will boost up quickly. But here you need to work for each website with more effort and time.

That was very helpful. I guess I need to decide exactly what I'm doing.

I work in a niche in which it is extremely beneficial to have an optimized web page that ranks highly on google in order to directly drive traffic to said business.

My theory was to create an easy keyword URL with my state to for my own purposes, but why not do it for others a long with it, and once they have traffic, throw them up for sale to my colleagues in other areas of the country. Or have possibly have them "rent" the site by allowing them to tailor the site for their place of business in exchange for a monthly fee...with the hopes that when someone search the keywords, their site would come up, they would get the traffic, and possibly even the business?

But, if I have to do an individual SEO campaign for each one of these, this could prove to me too time consuming and not worth it.

      Any thoughts/advice?

Wow you are going to do rental business with your website? I am doing the same for some of the micro business based on the local cities. I understand your thoughts now. If you use one website you cant rent it to multiple persons although you have separate landing pages but they will not allow. So you need to target separate domains in this case. And nothing to do you need to work separately. My suggestion is that dont go with all 15 together. Research more and make sure from which cities you will get the best business. Run one or two website first, rank them and then try to get clients to rent your website. If you get success, you can launch other cities website with that monthly subscription fees easily. Because you need to spend money on articles for each website if you are not a writer. So go slow will be my advice for you. Run AB testing first and check how things will go for you. Thanks a lot.
