Hello everyone

I know this question may pop up a lot but just to refresh,

A strong keyword with a - in a .com (i.e. www.my-keyword.com), or without a - on a .net (www.keyword.net)?

What would rank/ be better?

Many thanks.
Harry.

  • They'd be the same... The issue is if you want visitors to type in your url... Then, some of them will type .com at the end, ending up on a competitor's site.
  • As far as SERP is concern...
keyword is keyword is keyword regardless if you use it with: .com or .net or .troll

  • Of course my-keyword is much better!

    Example:

dog-crates.com would rank much better than just dog.com (I am just giving an example where in the 1st situation you could rank both "dog" & "dog crates" much easier than in the 2nd situation!)

  • It doesn't matter. Think brand when it comes to your name. I have at least 5 .xyz extensions.
  • www.my-keyword.com better. .com always easier to rmb than .net.
