How to rank Youtube videos?

Well,
We've been able to rank a few videos high by relevant tags, description all overall optimization. However, we also involved with a person who was able to rank a video within a couple of days without empty description and barely optimized title.
Does anyone know how one may able to do it? Some kind of back end work, like links to the video or embeds? VIdIQ plugin we use didn'ts how any social shares. That video had no likes and 10 views.

Any tips?

      This. Views are not important any more, but YouTube tracks viewing time for each individual user. You can see the overall stats from your video admin pages.

      Also, engagement. Channel subscriptions, likes/dislikes, comments, and shares too.

      Fact but you may also use Social media to be mentioned. If people appreciate your video according to the material you added in it. Your video will be highlighted then.

    Likes/dsilikes and so to say reposts in other social media sites?(FB, instagram), subscribers of the channels make a difference as well.

        Think how you would have worked if this would be a normal web page / post not a video. Yes you can apply almost all the SEO techniques.
        Your SEO effort starts with good keyword research and good keyword selection.
        Have interesting content, and optimize keyword in title, description, use tags. share the video on video submission sites, always mention the youtube link as the original source.
        Backlinks will surely help ranking higher.
        More views, more subscriptions, more shares, more comments, are the signs of ranking better.

    You would rank the video the same way you would a normal website. High PR links with low out bound links! Duhhh

      True, You need to do optimization of keyword(title, description,tags)

      Ranking will also depend on
      number of views and comments,
      number of subscriptions,
      number of times the video getting shared by social media channels

    I hope this will help you
    1)Create a YouTube channel..
    2)Write a perfect metatags, keeping SEO in mind for the video.
    3)The title of your video should at least 5 words long(include keyword)
    4)You can include your full keyword without keyword stuffing
    5)The description should be at least 250 words(use keywords 3-4 times)
    6)Try to get more views for the video by sharing it in social media and quora.
    7)Place Video Link in Your Email Signature and Blog posts
