Hi We are planning to launch a micro service marketplace this new year its called Digital Job Done . We thought to create multiple videos which reflect how we work. We've been able to rank a few videos high by relevant tags, description all overall optimization.

However, we also involved with a person who was able to rank a video within a couple of days without empty description and barely optimized title.
Does anyone know how to do it? Some kind of backlink optimisation?

Any tips?

  • Basic YouTube SEO in a nutshell

    1. Rename the video file to mainkeyword.avi
    2. Video Title = Keyword
    3. Start description with your keyword
    4. Once you got the url of your video, add it to your description
    5. Write a description for your video containing your keyword and its variations.
    6. (Keyword stuffing in the description)
    7. Syndwire or Onlywire-Blast
    8. If you have one, add an url containing your keyword to the description.

This is enough for low to middle competitive keywords.

  • Here is the youtube ranking factors:

    1-Meta data:
    -Title
    -Description
    -Tags
    2-Watch time:
    -Average watch time
    -Retention
    3-Channel authority
    4-Backlinks
    5-Engagement:
    -Only susbscribtions driven
*likes, comments, shares are too easily gamed so they aren't reliable enough to use in ranking. However, the organic ripple effects of these actions may help with discoverability in other ways; for example, if someone "likes" your video, and their 1,000 subscribers see that activity in What to Watch, those 1,000 subscribers may decide to also watch that video.

  • I was talking about short term techniques for ranking within days or even minutes.

Why you think the file title is a myth?

Watch time, authority, subs and engagement is something that will gain over time if you produce good content.

    • From youtube itself:
Q: I heard that you index video file titles (like MyVideoTitle.mp4) and they factor into Search. Is that true?
A: That is a great example of a common search myth that isn't true. We know that many times our algorithms seem like a "black box" to people outside YouTube, so you will hear various SEO "hacks" or "tricks" like this from time to time.

  • For YouTube video SEO, you first of all need to choose a right keyword. It will be better, if you choose your channel name same as the video keyword. For example- I have a YouTube channel "Bank Job Math Solutions" and my key word also the same . And in YouTube my channel is in first page. secondly, In description, you need to write your channel name and key word. then you need to apply for adsense for online earning. Then promote your channel in different social platform including Facebook, Twitter etc.

I have a system that will rank any youtube video in just a matter of hours in the 1st page of google but it will require a "1" month setup and initial investment of $30, and from then you will be able to rank any video in any niche you can think of! without waiting the 1 month time period again!

    • Yeah right.... This isn't the place to promote your services by the way. You might want to try the warriors for hire section.

  • Also try to embed the video on Different Web 2.0s Like Wordpress.com , Wix , Jimdo , weebly etc. They do Help in Optimizing the video

  • In my opinion:
    1. Title of the video - Use Keywords
    2. Description of video.
    3. Naming your video file before upload.
    4. Use closed caption (CC) feature in your video on youtube.
    5. Tagging & Keyword research for YouTube video.

    • Good article and good blog in general.

He mentioned a very important point, I forgot: Don´t buy views!

I wouldn´t even recommend those view exchange services because the users will watch the period of time that is necessary to get the credit and then leave, which is not good for your "watch time".
