You've most likely got a penguin penalty, I took a look at your link profile and you have over 14,000 links mostly using commercially sensitive anchor text or raw URLs in an obvious pattern, most of the links are coming from low quality sites such as wiki's and 51% of your entire link profile is no-follow, this is an easy one for the penguin filter.

You will need to perform a full link cleanup by contacting your past SEO company and asking for those low quality links to be removed, or contact the webmasters hosting the links directly asking for removal, if they don't remove you can consider using the disavow tool however this is no guarantee.

Look at possibly removing links from irrelevant domains with a Domain Rating(DR) less than 40 as shown in the spreadsheet above as often they will be low quality or spammy sites and/or links with aggressive use of commercial anchor text.

The penguin filter will be running in real time soon so you'll know almost immediately whether removing low quality links is helping or not, my guess is if you somehow manage to remove the majority of the low quality links the penalty will be dropped however due to a loss in link juice your rankings may remain subdued but should be ok to rise again with new quality links, content, social promotion, etc....provided your site doesn't have any other issues and good user engagement.

There might be multiple reason, but I think you need to focus on social media marketing. For that you have to join the relevant group and community where you would find your target audience. Once you start doing this might be a scenario of your visitor count will be.
