Hello every one,

What is happening to my blog? Can anyone please tell me. Am thinking is sandbox but i don't understand. and their is no message on my webmaster indicating any penalty or ban.

Could you guys please help me out.

Its not in the sandbox as the sandbox does not exist!

It only exists in the minds of those with crap sites who do not know what they are doing as an excuse for not being above to rank crap.

If your backlinks are being deindexed, then they are crap and spam and that is why your site is ranking poorly.

search on google with the term "site:Your-Website.com". if you get results containing your website links, then your blog is safe. If not then you should worry

I think the problem is, your backlinks were poor. These could be the reason behind this fall. Please check are the backlinks are counted as spam or not.

What a load of excrement. That no "sandbox"; that just means you do not rank as high as you did before!

As cpayne pointed out the answer is simple: it's not in a sandbox. Google has all sorts of spam controls which, according to one of their reps, can produce an effect that feels like a sandbox. No such mechanism is known to exist.

OP, are you talking about Google's reaction to your sitemap? Not backlinks, but your own pages? 4300 articles would be a lot for just one site. It's entirely possible that some of them are not index-worthy by Google's standards.

Every time I have tested the sand-box theory I broke it. I'm about to try to build a bunch of quality links into a new domain and I'm pretty sure it will just rank like every other site. I think people feel this effect is real is because they just don't understand that it takes google awhile to aggregate the data their crawlers collect. There's definitely a delay, it's not a sandbox, it's just the reality that google isn't instantaneous. The crawlers also seem to take their good old time when your site doesn't have quality links.

Yea am talking about google's reaction on my site map, not my backlinks. my backlinks are ok per say but my site map is the problem.

No. of indexed pages before is 4300 but now is 1390 or so
No. of submitted pages before is 4500 but now is 1340 or so

my website is a media website and am always updating almost every hour of the day.

Do you have another theory as for what could cause this?

You say you've submitted thousands of articles less than before. Could this be a problem from your end?

I completely agree with cbpayne. Sandbox has never been confirmed by any of the Google representatives. You invaluable backlinks might have been discarded by google. The point is, if there is no decline in ranking or traffic, you need not to bother about backlinks.

I think when the number of indexed links is decreasing, it's a sign that your links need to be of more quality. In my experience, number of links really don't matter if you wanted to rank as long as what you're building from the very beginning are high quality links. But, if you're building numerous links that has no weight, you have to change your strategy soon.

Google has a site quality evaluation system. Since links constitute the major part of this system I'm pretty sure one of your links has reached a high spam score which cost him the suppression from google index.

  • correct me if i'm wrong but i thought the google sandbox was only for new sites that spammed thousands of links in a short amount of time? Anything else would just be a penalty from google.

No. It's likely that "sandbox" is completely imaginary. Google hasn't confirmed it, and you only see this complaint for new sites that have no strong links.

Whenever there are websites that has dropped their rankings or deindexed their pages they are all blaming one only thing and its Google Sandbox the term was not confirmed but already been used these past few years. They are missing the most important point that really affects their campaign and that is being unethical and trying to manipulate the thing that will make them fast results.
