Hi, I'm new here. As I cannot post links yet, I will try to explain this the best I can.

Many of you most likely already know this but for those that don't:

When you are evaluating your potential competition in a new niche the general way to test your competition is to do a Google search using quotes.

Example: Key "proper way to swing a golf club" into Google search using quotes.

(BTW. The SEO Keyword research tool says there are approximately 496 searches per day for this keyword phrase).

The Google results shown is "1 -10 of about 3,240 for" (keyword phrase).

Are 3,240 sites the competition for this keyword phrase?

Actually, no.

Go to the bottom of the screen, you will see Google PAGES results from 1 to 10.

Click on page 10.

Up top you will see "91 - 100 of about 3,230 for" (keyword phrase).

Go to the bottom of the page and you will see pages listed from 1 to 19.

Click on page 19.

On the next screen you will see "151 - 151 of 151 for" (keyword phrase).

Below that is the option to "Repeat the Search with the omitted results included?"

In reality the competition is NOT 3,240 but 151.

Hope this helps someone. Who knows you may even go for the keyword phrase in my example.
