I've started to employ RSS on my site and before I start submitting and mashing I need to have a couple things cleared up:

I've just read on an expert report that if you have your RSS feeds submitted to feed aggregators it gets updated automatically every time you add new content.

How can this be? I've been told by another expert that (on a feed for a static site) I need to update my RSS feed manually every time I add a new page or new content. Does it mean that I don't need to resubmit to the feed aggregators. This part puzzles me.

Another confusing thing is the page format. This is my RSS page:

I had it checked and confirmed by someone but a WSO from a major "guru" says the RSS feed must have an rss file extension, like this:

http://www.control-your-blood-pressure.com/xml.rss

Is this just an error on the guru's part?

I think you should clear your questions what u want to ask. Then Oly you will get corect answer otherwise it is of no use. Another thig is that you link goes to Error Page 404. Pls look at this also.

The link goes to an error page because the real link is this:

      Lower blood pressure naturally

But the WSO I'm reading says the page must have an rss file extension: /xml.rss

I think this must just be an error when writing.

    Hi David,

If your site is static html, you will have to update the RSS file by hand. I agree with this.

But you don't need to name your RSS pheed with the extension .rss. It can be .xml or even a "directory", it depends on how it's generated. But, I do agree that you may as well name it something like:
    keyword.rss

Also, your pheed must be "pinged" when it updates, which notifies the ping directories that an update has been made. Wordpress and other blogs will do this automatically, but for html sites, you'll have to find another method.
