I have a local service website and need to get in the routine of building local authority backlinks.

Any tips and advice on ways to encourage them?

    Create an interesting/useful piece of content... Interesting/useful to the people who visit sites in related niches/industries:

    if you're an insurance person, wonder about what people who want to rehab their house don't know about home insurance and home repairs, write an article/make a video/slide-show answering that question; then contact general contractors and invite them to link to your content.


    if you sell donuts, create a funny video for kids or a funny survey or a game, go to kid party place owners and propose they put that video on your site (with a link to yours).

    If you are mainly focusing on Local Business, as on my experience i found out that you need to initially create a Google Business page. It will helps you to drive more traffic and will suggests when someone searches best + your local service category + service.
