Frustrations with backlinks

What's up with backlink building being so difficult? I read on this forum all about using pinterest, quora, forum posting, blog commenting etc. but all of these links I create are nofollow, and I hear that google can detect most of these as being "spammy" even if they're dofollow..

I know about the method where you ask someone to post your link on their site, but is there a single way to manually build good quality dofollow links?

  • Do not worry too much about Backlinks!

Let the backlinks come Naturally. Focus more on creating High Quality Content. That is what matter more than backlinks!!!!

If you worry too much about getting the right backlinks, you are setting yourself up for frustration and kind of wasting your time!

Personally, I do not worry about backlinks AT ALL - and I still get good rankings and good organic traffic from Google.

Quick example; google "free solo ads that work" and you will see one of my blog posts ranking number one. I did not work on any backlinks for that post, AT ALL. And I'm still ranking high. Not just for that keyword, but related keywords like "free solo ads", etc.

I am telling you - do not worry too much about backlinks. All you are doing is taking more energy away from what is MORE IMPORTANT, and that is HIGH QUALITY CONTENT.

You need to deliver the best content for the search engine's main priority - and that is THEIR USER.

Over deliver high quality content to the search engine's user and the rest is history!

    • Hey, thanks for the reply. I understand content is super important, I feel my content is pretty good. My website is quite new, but I can't find my website anywhere on google search! I would absolutely love to receive backlinks naturally but it's probably not gonna happen with 20 visitors a day

You're obviously following advice from folks that don't rank pages. Nofollow links are useless for SEO.

Build your own PBN or learn how to get traffic to build links for you.

Terrible advice on an SEO forum.

  • Don't give up Dani, your website will be visible if you continue to work on it. 20 visitors will be 30 soon.
  • Those are olden days where you have to build links in unnaturally way and you know there were always website that accepted links using "subit a link" "add a site", but now its GONE. (Excluding directories)

Now the main link building tactic is, write something great article, reach out the blog owners who posted similar content (old), and ask them to update or link your article (which is latest one).

And social signals are one more important factor here., though the links are nofollow, when your website is receiving traffic from those sources it is fine.,
  • yes if you have blog then you not need to worry to much about backlink post regularly with high quality content that's it.
  • It doesn't matter whether if it is no follow or do follow links because both are links. The most important thing here is the information that will provided by the link, is it new? unique? interesting? as well as beneficial? These are the factors to be considered in generating quality links from great content.
  • PBN's will get your site banned eventually.

    Backlinks are still super important.

My advice would be to buy the Ultimate Link Building Guide by Eric Ward. It's a bit expensive but totally, totally orth it in my case.

Also google Neil Patel Link Building. He gives excellent strategies for free. Oh and check out Backlinco too.

      Clueless nonsense.

Anyone that's not building up their own brand isn't serious about SEO or sales.

Look at BIG authority sites, they usually have a network of feeder sites. Example, animalplanet.com is part of a network of sites (below). Go to the animalplanet.com site & look at their footer (OUR SITES).
      • hxxp://www.ahctv.com
      • hxxp://www.animalplanet.com
      • hxxp://www.animalist.com
      • hxxp://www.destinationamerica.com
      • hxxp://www.discovery.com
      • hxxp://www.tudiscovery.com
      • hxxp://tv.discoveryfamilia.com
      • hxxp://kids.discovery.com
      • hxxp://www.discoveryfitandhealth.com
      • hxxp://discoveryfamilychannel.com
      • hxxp://www.investigationdiscovery.com
      • hxxp://www.oprah.com
      • hxxp://www.sciencechannel.com
      • hxxp://www.tlc.com
      • hxxp://www.velocity.com
      • hxxp://www.3net.com
      • hxxp://www.apl.tv
      • hxxp://news.discovery.com
      • hxxp://revision3.com
      • hxxp://testtube.com
      • hxxp://www.discoveryeducation.com
      • hxxp://www.discoverymusicsource.com
      • hxxp://www.discoveryaccess.com
      • hxxp://www.sourcefed.com

Think of your business as owning subsidiaries (legit feeder sites). Expand new sites as needed.

Keep in mind I've never once had a Google slap on any of my sites.
  • Try guest posting. Get in touch with other bloggers in your niche, make friends with them and seek to contribute or guest post on their blogs. Put a link to your site in the guest post.

It should be much easier than PBN. PBNs require a lot of work and a lot of time and beyond that, a lot of maintenance.
  • backlink! you should create its with social network, forum signature, ...

    • No, don't do this. It's just a waste of your time...

Create good content (article, video, image), the kind of content that people will link to. Contact people who own sites in related niches and suggest your content will help their site visitors.

      Or create your own PBN.
