Is backlinking still consider as one of the important factor for SEO, I mean does a website with good number of quality backlink gets more traffic and rank higher in google ?

    Google will always have the need to rely on backlinks, no matter the algorithm updates it releases. However, the strategy of building low authoritive backlinks is long gone and now very much so considered to be spam.

    Focus on building link partners who work in the same niche as you. Focus less on Page Rank and more on Domain Authority and Page Authority. Additionally, social signals has become (in my opinion) a more relevant way for increasing rankings. Social Signals show interactivity between you and your audience.

      Links are a very important ranking signal for Google. Links are important to the point that Google puts a considerable measure of exertion into distinguishing terrible back links.     Well, baclinking has always been and will always be the number 1 factor for ranking, but over the years, many changes has come to this ranking factor.

    Now, you will require to focus on quality rather than quantity, which means, only a few quality backlinks will do better for you, when compared to thousands of low quality links. SO, always focus on quality and you will see the benefits of it.

    Yes, Backlinks still useful in terms of SEO but as far as I understand content is still king of market. Your quality content will automatically drive traffic for your which directly proportional to page ranking. Don't write just thinking about SEO. Write to meet your purpose and then may be refactor it to meet SEO guidelines also but without compromising actual intent of content. Happy Writing

      There's a ton of threads with generic advice on this topic. I'm not sure why we'd need to repeat it here.

      The advice is not one-size-fits-all. If you really want some tips you should tell us something about your site and niche.

    Backlinks are always important. Google ranking is not solely based on backlinks though. Low quality backlinks will always be slammed down.
