Backlinks Through Articles

Hi warriors,

I am working on a few things right now and I am earning some money with PPC+CPA.

But I also wanted to try to get some money through clickbank and organic and free traffic. I have a niche website which is keyword optimized but still doesn't rank high. Or let's say that the ranking really sucks

I got some backinl form forums and profile pages and I also managed to get mysel 100 articles. I wrote them during the day when I stopped working at my other projects. Now I want to submit them. I thought about submitting them to the 2 top directories which means 200 backlinks.

I wanted to ask the expert warriors if backlinks from article directories will help me with my ranking ? Do i have to continue to create backlinks after I submitted all those articles to keep my rankings ?

Thanks in advance

  • Back links from articles definitely help. I am a firm believer of using article marketing to generate back links and traffic. Just remember to use the keyword you wish to optimize in the anchor text.

Once you get the rankings for the keyword you want to rank, there are many factors that will determine whether it stays there. On SEO point of view, you should not stop linking. There are other link building methods other than article marketing, like blog commenting, forum posting and profile creation on social networking sites.

    Never stop building links.

    • You say you write 100 articles and that you will submit them to top 2 directorys.

So im asking my self is it good to submit same article to 2 directorys?
Why not submiting them to 5 or 10?
  • almost every backlink from article directories in no follow, so..this type backlink won't help you much

  • Yes, submitting articles to article directories will help a lot as well as following other ways such as social bookmarkings, blog commentings and forums postings too will help. However, if you can get links from high authority sites, that will be more helpful.
  • I do also think that backlinks from articles help to improve your rankings. I checked out a website of from another guy who is in the same niche but ranks for another keyword. I used a paid backlink checker and 90% of the backlinks were from article directories and he is on page 1.

Well I guess the only way to find it out is to actually post them to the dirctories and be patient.

    • Article marketing does help with backlinks but you need to go one step further than your competitor to outrank them. Most of your competitors are doing the same thing.

To step it up, look for popular topics in your niche/market, write really great content about the topics, submit to article directories, run Google Alerts to see if other sites publish them, contact them, offer more unique content in reply for a good link.

Every tactic can be broken down in a variety of ways and is worth testing ...
  • I'm wondering about what dadaas asked to. Since you go through the trouble of writing the articles, why not submit them to more than one directory? Does doing so hurt their link value?

  • Hey Deafnz, my stance towards article marketing on its rewards is more towards the traffic aspect. You can get good traffic from your articles, dont just post them in two directories but more like what dadaas said. On link-building, you can still build links to your article URLs although the impact wont be as great.

  • Submitting your article to article directories will help drive traffic to your site. It's part of the basic SEO. Just be sure to check if that article directory is a DoFollow site and make your anchor text related to your keywords.
  • I used to generate backlinks from articles, now I gear towards Angela style of High PR backlinks... Nevertheless, article is still a great way to get backlinks and traffic!
  • I think submitting articles will definitely help backlinking to your sight and drive in traffic. The article directories submitted to must have a do follow as mentioned above. • I'm currently in the middle of submitting a lot of articles(around 100) I think of article marketing like this:-

      -Backlink is guaranteed
-Traffic/sales from the actual articles is a bonus

I'm also doing a little experiment. I'm using some of the articles to get backlinks for my main site in the niche, using the main keywords, but I'm also using some for other keywords that are less competitive. I'm making sure to have these keywords in the title. I'm then going to create lots of backlinks for these articles, using the pull of the article sites themselves(mainly EZA) to get the articles(hopefully) on the front page of google

  • Yeah for sure articles do get indexed very well, I have had many instances over the last 9 years when searching people and terms on google that articles have come up on 1st page
