Are traffic Exchange sites good ?

Is it an good idea to use traffic exchange site for increasing your website traffic and will this help you in long run to rank higher in google or any other search engines ?

It is a good idea to get traffic exchange, but not in spammy way, if your traffic come through organic way it will help to boost your ranking.

  A traffic exchange begins with a central hub site, running software of a specialized kind. Website owners sign up to be a part of this exchange, and their website is added to a list. Another publisher signs up and puts their site into the list as well. This repeats to grow a list of websites as long as the exchange wants it to be. Some of the biggest exchanges involve millions of sites; some of the smallest might only have a few thousand.

No don't use them.

However, I think link exchanges with high quality sites that are high in the SERPs is great for long term traffic. These are the ones that you directly contact the webmaster/blogger and you each manually set up a link to each-other.

Google wont count the link as much because its a swap, but it still counts I believe.

Traffic doesn't rank sites. If ranking is your goal this isn't the gimmick you're looking for.

Traffic exchange is usually a pretty lousy way to get traffic. It's likely that some of the traffic you're getting is either bots or completely random. That can't really convert in any scenario I can think of.

Well i can see mix reactions and reply here, i tried couple of sites which offer 50 ti 100 visits by breaking it up into 5 /10/20 daily. I did see nice high in my traffic, but when I checked where the traffic was coming from, it showed clearly the links of that website, which makes me worried as google don't entertain such traffic exchange sites. So i immediately stopped the site and deleted my url from that traffic exchange sites. This is just my honest report after using this traffic exchange sites.

  Google doesn't need to give a rodents behind about this. Traffic that lands on your site is not a direct ranking signal. Google only tracks a small portion of all the available websites which would make traffic a very poor ranking signal for them.
