Visitors from non-targeted countries who spam and try to hack my website

Hello,

My website is targetting french market but I have many visitors from other countries. Mainly from Russia, China, US, Ukrain.

I receive one time every 3 weeks spam comments. Sometimes, I receive text who actually doesn't make any sense and link to website that does not exist.

What I don't understand is my website doesn't have a lot of authority. It's just a small website with 8-9 articles.

Couple times some people try to access in my wp admin, by going in *mydomainname.fr/admin* or some wp-content directory from the url.

What should I do ?

Thanks you

They're bots, they don't care about anything except trying to get a backlink (any link).

Delete the theme comment forms & use a Facebook iframe for comments, assuming you actually need traffic posting legit comments.

    • What do you think is wrong with my theme comment forms? Because all the comments need to be approved by me
  • use Akismet to handle these spam comments.
  • Do proper on-page SEO for your site to stop visitors from not targeted countries.
  • Simply, use iThemes Security (formerly Better WP Security). You’ll be able to change:

    /wp-login.php to /login/
    /wp-admin/ to /admin/
    /wp-login.php?action=register to /register/
Or to whatever slugs you choose in the plugin settings

    Good luck man!
