My article isn't showing up in google

Time for another newbie question from yours truly!

Well I FINALLY put an article up on goarticles about 5 days ago. However, I'm still not seeing it in google, even when I search for my exact title in quotes. Funny thing is though, when I do the search another site comes up that linked to my article. But the article itself isn't showing up in a search......do I just need to wait longer? Thanks

Probably yes. But try typing in the exact URL e.g. http://www.goarticles.com/whatever/article245252 into the normal google search box.

If it's on there it will show up in the listing.

Well, try to get about 50-60 backlinks for your article via social bookmarks, blog comments as well as via some other backlink white hat methods. You will be listed sooner on google

Actually, you know, if you do NOT have any backlink, It is very hard to get listed.
Google does not list each and every article from goarticles.com or other EZA or others. Those articles should get some backlinks inorder to get listed....

No backlinks.....I was under the impression that just by putting the article on a popular directory and doing on-page optimization for the keyword it would do well on google.....got that info straight from the "bum marketing method" site, Travis Sago doesn't really talk about building links for the articles. Outdated information maybe? Time to further my newbie training and learn about social bookmarking. Thanks for the advice everyone, it's great to see so many helpful people here, I sure appreciate it!

A couple of good ways to get indexed faster include:

- Add adsense to your sight; Google has to take notice of your site to see if you qualify which can help
- Kind of the same but use adwords for a while to get traffic
- Getting backlinks on high PR sites (check our angela's backlinks on the WSO forum). If google see's a high ranking site is taking notice of you then google's more likely to take notice of you.
- Debatabley black hat marketing but post a link on craig's list. It's a rediculously popular website - post an add on here and google has to take notice.

If i think of anymore I'll let you know.
