Questions About Youtube Optimization

Hey Warriors,

I just picked up a course on Youtube two weeks ago on how to rank videos. So far so good. I really learn a lot. My girlfriend likes to karaoke and I'm ranking her videos, but she raised some questions I couldn't answer. With that said, I have some questions for those who have ranked videos before that can answer these questions.

1. Why is it necessary to put keyword title under video description twice? One at the top and one at the bottom.

2. What is the purpose of adding your own Youtube url at the bottom of the video description?

My girlfriend does a lot of covers from different artists, and I'm not really sure if I should link to the original artist or hers. We give credit where credit is due, but at the same time I'm ranking her videos as well. So i'm not sure which way is the correct way.

What I do every time is I search for the original song and if the artist does NOT have a channel for the song, then I would just add her url at the bottom. If the artist have a channel for the uploaded song already, then I would tag the original link at the bottom. However, by doing this I'm sending all the traffic to the original artist now is it? How would you go about doing this the proper way if you were to send traffic to your video instead?

I'm sure there are some musicians/artists here that can point me in the right directions.

Anyway, I think I might know why putting the url at the bottom is important. One reason I heard is that, if people share your videos throughout the internet, your description will get pick up along with the url. Google will then recognize this and your link will get index. (Sorry, I could be wrong about this) but do correct me if I'm wrong.

Any thoughts on this?

I have no idea why these would be necessary. YouTube is already linking your channel, and you'd be only adding another nofollow link to the page. It's enough to have the title mentioned just once, so have something else in the description.

I'm pretty sure that embedding a video doesn't bring your description to that page, and in any case YouTube provides links back to the video. However, if the embed is an iframe the backlink value is questionable at best.

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.

    What's your excuse?
