Keywords in folders or slug

Which is better: Putting keywords the folder structure of a website or in slugs?

Example:

http://website.com/rifles/high-caliber/silenced/

or

http://website.com/silenced-high-caliber-rifles/

In the case of this particular article I want it to rank for the phrase "silenced high caliber rifles" but I also want my website to rank for "rifles" and "high caliber rifles".

Any thoughts?

I prefer linking stuff off the main domain,
except images. People swear by folders,
but not me. It goes to your last sentence.

My websites/pages rank across the board.

I also want people to know (read/see) exactly what the
page is they are going for. Having to decipher folders
    can sometimes lose the translation.

But like I said, other people like folders. You can folder
    and subfolder yourself into oblivion.

I would use one folder/(or even page) if I had to use folders,
for each topic, no subfolders of these folders.

    domain.com/high-powered-rifles-with-silencers
and I might even break the pages out of the folders.
I believe that's what amazon does. They have a "folder"
for laptops, but click on chromebooks and it takes you to
    its own page.

My motto: Simple things are best. The less filing you do,
keeping close to the domain, the better.

It's probably the neat freak in me that wants the folders and thus tries to convince me that the hierarchical structure would be favored by search engines (google). I would imagine it doesn't make much of a difference if one or the other is used as long as it makes sense.

I might try to do a test just to be sure.

Defiantly use a folder/category hierarchy, that's the basis of Google Mega Sitelinks authority. I think a lot of folks understatement the power of a good site structure.
